Drapery Hardware & Accessories

Decorative drapery hardware that finishes the window — crowns, scrolls, holdbacks, tiebacks, finials and rings in Classic, Crystal and Gem styles.

Galaxy Design treats hardware as jewelry for the window. The range centers on decorative crowns and scrolls — metal pieces with a wire or stud on the back from which drapes or a valance are hung — plus holdbacks, tiebacks, finials, rings and brackets, in Classic, Crystal and Gem collections. A crown-and-scroll set can dress a window up to 96 inches wide, turning the top of the window into the design feature instead of hiding it behind a plain rod.

Hardware does two jobs at once. Functionally, holdbacks keep draperies swept to the side and hold the fabric's shape through the day; finials and brackets keep rods honest. Decoratively, a crystal or gem holdback adds the contemporary, luxurious touch that makes a room look finished in photographs and in person. Because every elegant drapery package includes its hardware, the pieces are designed to compose with the fabrics — but hardware is also available on its own to upgrade drapery you already own.

Options & Materials

Hardware selection starts with the collection — Classic metalwork for traditional rooms, Crystal for sparkle against formal fabrics, Gem for a jeweled accent — then the finish and the functional pieces: holdbacks where panels must sweep, tiebacks for a softer gather, finials sized to the rod and the room's scale. Crown-and-scroll sets replace the rod entirely at the top of the window and suit formal and traditional designs; rods with rings suit panels you open and close daily. If you are upgrading existing drapery, bring a photo and the rod diameter — matching new hardware to old panels is a consultation-sized job, not a renovation.

How the Job Works, Step by Step

  1. 1

    Free consultation & measuring

It starts with a free consultation. We look at your existing openings, talk through what you want to change, take exact measurements and note anything unusual — out-of-square frames, deep sills, HOA rules — that affects the plan.

  2. 2

    Written quote, no pressure

You receive a written quote that spells out the product, the scope and the total price. No vague allowances, no pressure to sign on the spot. Take the time you need to compare.

  3. 3

    Order & scheduling

Once you approve, your products are ordered or made to the exact measurements from step one. We confirm an installation date that fits your schedule and tell you how long the work will take.

  4. 4

    Installation day

Our installers protect floors and furniture, remove the old units, fit the new ones, seal and trim the openings, and test every unit before they leave. Most homes are finished the same day.

  5. 5

    Walkthrough & cleanup

We walk the finished work with you, show you how everything operates, register any warranty paperwork and take all packaging and old materials away. The room is left clean and ready to use.

Care & Maintenance

Metal hardware needs little: dust with a dry or barely damp cloth, and keep abrasive cleaners away from crystal and gem elements, which clean best with a soft cloth and mild glass cleaner applied to the cloth, not sprayed on the piece. Check bracket screws and holdback mounts twice a year — drapery is heavy, and a mount that has crept a quarter inch will eventually tear its anchor. If a panel's weight bows a rod, do not live with it: a center bracket or a heavier rod is a small fix compared with re-hanging a fallen dressing.

What Affects the Price?

No two homes in Dallas are the same, so honest pricing starts with a look at your actual project. These are the factors that move the number most:

  • Collection — Classic vs Crystal vs Gem pieces
  • Number of pieces — crowns, scrolls, holdbacks, finials
  • Window width — wide windows need multi-piece sets
  • Finish and trim selections
  • Standalone purchase vs included in a package

For general planning numbers, see our Price Guide — those are market ranges, not our prices. Your exact, written price comes free with your quote: call (866) 215-3173.

Drapery Hardware & Accessories — Frequently Asked Questions

What is a drapery crown, and how does it work?+

A crown is a decorative metal piece mounted above the window. It has a wire on the back that allows drapes or a valance to be hung from it, so the scrollwork itself becomes the top treatment. Crown sets come in 2-piece and 3-piece combinations for different widths.

Can I buy hardware without buying drapery?+

Yes — hardware, holdbacks and accessories are part of the range in their own right, and upgrading hardware is one of the cheapest ways to make existing drapery look designed. Call (866) 215-3173 with your window width and a photo.

Is hardware really included in the packages?+

Yes. Every elegant drapery package includes all the drapery hardware needed for the look — it is one of the package rules, stated on the package listings themselves.

Which finish should I choose?+

Match the room's existing metals first (light fixtures, door hardware), then the fabric's temperature — warm fabrics take warm metals. The consultation lays the shortlisted pieces against your fabric so the choice is visual, not theoretical.

How much do drapery hardware & accessories cost?+

The honest answer is that it depends on size, material and the condition of the existing opening. Beware of anyone who quotes a firm price without measuring. Galaxy Design measures first and then gives you a written quote with the full price — free — so you can compare it properly.

How long does a typical drapery hardware & accessories project take?+

Measuring and ordering take the first part of the timeline; the on-site work for most homes is completed in a day. Larger or custom projects take longer, and we give you the schedule in writing before you commit, so you can plan around it.

Do you offer free estimates?+

Yes — call (866) 215-3173 and we will arrange a free consultation and written quote. There is no obligation and no pressure to decide on the spot.

Do you serve my part of Dallas?+

Galaxy Design serves the areas listed on our Service Areas page. If your neighborhood is close to a listed area but not named, call us — we will tell you straight away whether we can reach you.

What should I prepare before installation day?+

Clear the area around each opening, take down curtains or blinds if we are not replacing them, and move fragile items away from the work zone. Our team protects floors and furniture, and removes the old units and packaging when the job is done.

Can drapery hardware & accessories be customized for unusual sizes or shapes?+

In most cases, yes. Arches, angled tops, oversized openings and out-of-square frames are measured individually and made or ordered to fit. Bring us the awkward opening — it is usually the one that benefits most from a custom solution.

What information helps my quote be accurate?+

Rough measurements (width × height in inches), a photo of each opening, and a note about what you want to change. Send those when you call (866) 215-3173 and your written quote will be faster and closer to the final number.

What happens if something is not right after the job?+

Call us. Galaxy Design stands behind its work: if something we supplied or installed is not right, we come back and make it right. That is how a local business keeps its name — one fixed problem at a time.
